At Stansons, sustainability is woven into the fabric of everything we do. From responsibly sourced materials to energy-efficient manufacturing and a commitment to reducing waste, we believe in creating beautiful, functional products that are as kind to the planet as they are to people.

Our sustainable approach

We’re all about doing things better; it’s our way of life. We're always working to improve. Using recycled materials is good, but shipping them globally isn't carbon-efficient. So, alongside UK assembly and manufacturing, we aim to source 100% of our materials from mainland Europe by 2025.

We also ensure our showroom materials, packaging, catalogues, and library packs are sustainably sourced and recyclable.

Powering a greener future

We’re serious about reducing our impact, and tackling energy use and emissions head-on. When it comes to driving down fossil fuels, 33% of our fleet vehicles are now electric and we get our samples distributed through London by pedal bike. It’s all part of the effort.

We’re also focused on how our products are made. Our eco fabrics are produced in a factory where solar panels generate 50%+ of its power and our rug factory is powered by wind turbines.

Our commitment to reducing waste

We always consider how we use resources. So, ask yourself, do you need a new product? We believe in giving products a second life! We’re here to rehome and upcycle products, especially zoning products, to stop them from ending up in landfill.

Our fixed-size design philosophy is key to this. Our set menu of products is designed to be flexible – they can go into a space, move to a new space, or be returned to us when you’re finished with them. This ensures flexibility and, crucially, reduces waste.

Take Back Scheme

At Stansons, we don’t just create spaces; we weave sustainability into every thread of our existence. Our Take Back Scheme is not just a program; it's a bold commitment to the planet, a cheeky wink at waste, and a clever play on prolonging product life.

Furnishing Futures

supporting futures

We support Furnishing Futures, a charity who create trauma-informed healing homes for women and children who have escaped domestic abuse and been placed in empty social housing. They use good quality items donated by the interiors industry that would otherwise end up in landfill. A sustainable solution to two unsustainable problems.
