Elegance and corporate branding
Sainsbury’s is one of the big four supermarket giants in the UK within the retail grocery sector. It a national brand with its head office based in the prestigious area of Holborn, London.
The flagship head office building has undergone a refurbishment and modernisation programme, incorporating Sainsbury’s corporate branding throughout its open plan and fully dynamic office space. Stansons provided intelligent window solutions in keeping with the location and the corporate brand.
Reducing glare and enhancing the brand

Recently awarded a KPI rating of ‘excellent’ by Sainsbury’s, RG is a favoured supplier, creating and fitting out shops as well as offices. For Sainsbury’s Holborn head office, RG were briefed to create a prestige environment. This would include a window shading solution for floor to ceiling windows.
This solution needed to be robust but modern and enhance the bright open plan offices, whilst reducing solar glare. A consistent approach across all elevations was required, with an important stipulation: it would need to exactly match the colours prescribed in Sainsbury’s corporate design manual.
The Stansons solution
Stansons designed, supplied and installed Armour 50 mm ‘C’ shape aluminium Venetian blinds, all colour matched to Sainsbury’s specification. The floor to ceiling Venetians were the perfect solution for reducing solar glare whilst enhancing the bright open plan offices, and were fitted across several floors. The smooth contemporary lines of this solution fitted perfectly with the modern feel of the newly refurbished offices.
Ensuring the corporate look
The use of Venetian blinds contributes an important design element, unifying interiors throughout the building, while allowing the corporate branding to be featured. The simple manual control allows staff to easily regulate light and privacy to suit their needs, increasing the appeal and comfort of the working environment.
