New wing of popular private hospital installs bespoke cubicle tracking system
Feb 15, 2017
New Victoria Hospital is a private, charity owned hospital in South-West London. As one of the few remaining independent hospitals in the country, New Victoria Hospital has provided an excellent level of service to the local community and beyond for almost sixty years.
The Hospital, which opened its doors in 1958, has been going through an exciting period of refurbishment and expansion, with the end of 2016 seeing the construction of a brand new wing, The Victoria Foundation Wing. This modern new wing houses three state-of-the-art operating theatres, an endoscopy theatre, a 2-bed high-dependency unit, a 6-bed recovery area and a 14-bed day surgery unit, bringing the total number of beds in the hospital to 35.
Stansons Group project managers worked closely with main contractor Rydon after successfully securing the roller blinds and cubicle tracking package. The architect’s specification for the cubicle tracking was unique to the hospital in that custom designed curved Movatrack tracking was requested.
A detailed survey of the site was carried out by a Stansons Group surveyor, including a full manufacture survey, calculation and templating of bespoke curved cubical tracking in accordance with a specific design supplied by the architect, Colwyn Foulkes’.
Stansons Group installation team fitted Armour dimout and blackout roller blinds in the conference/training rooms. Further to the original blinds and cubicle tracking package, Stansons Group were contracted directly by the hospital’s Facilities Manager to supply custom print cubicle curtains to fit the bespoke Movatrack system, which had been installed in the day surgery unit and recovery area.
Stansons Group were able to scope, supply and install these custom designed curtains in time for the hospital wing's very special opening by HRH Princess Alexandra.
