5 Residential Projects To Watch

Aug 07, 2018

1. THE MADISON

A lifestyle is how The Madison must be described; not only do you buy into the sophisticated Canary Wharf life in E14 but the exclusive Highline Club, which captures panoramic views of Canary Wharf and spectacular sunsets, taking this build to the next level.

Canary Wharf is the new business heart and soul of London, having become one of London’s most sought after residential destinations, it is filled with great character and style.

Balfour Beatty, the international infrastructure group, were awarded the impressive £150 million contract by LBS Properties to deliver the main construction works and, from the press releases, it is evident that both Balfour and LBS hold equal respect for one another.

“Our in-depth knowledge and expertise will ensure that we can efficiently and effectively, deliver this complex building.”
Dean Banks, Managing Director
Balfour Beatty UK Construction Services

“Balfour Beatty has impressed us since the initial pre-construction services contract was awarded and we now look forward to working together to see the project through to completion.”
Nick Crawford, Director
LBS Properties

This staggering 53-storey landmark is one of the tallest structures under construction in the UK, standing at an impressive 187 metres. Furthermore, the inside is equally impressive with Make Architects’ exquisitely designed 423 residential apartments, residents’ lounge and business facilities. Ironically, this concrete monster will surprisingly boost the number of London’s green open spaces, with over 70% of the site’s footprint to be dedicated to a carefully planned new public garden. Already over 50% of the development is sold, although it is clear to see why. The end is insight with the main construction work scheduled for completion in 2020.

2. PRINCE OF WALES DRIVE

Introducing the luxurious new build set in the heart of the iconic SW postcode, with an equally befitting name, Prince of Wales Drive. Not only is this build royal by name but also by nature, as it features a collection of spacious apartments with premium specification and distinctive interior design by The Gallery HBA.

Interior Designer Muza Lab have created a contemporary palette of colours and finishes unique to the Prince of Wales Drive. They took inspiration from the urban industrial heritage of the development and nature of the neighbouring Battersea Park to ensure a stylish, contemporary and welcoming finish.

The state-of-the-art residents' facilities include a 17m pool, sauna, steam room, 8th floor roof terrace, 24-hour concierge and secure basement parking. The first residents are expected to move in from 2019, with the site complete by 2025.

Escape city life in the beautifully tranquil central garden designed by landscape architects Gillespies that lies in the centre of Prince of Wales Drive. They have designed the gardens and materials to reference the areas past and proximity to the peaceful 200 acre Battersea Park. Berkeley Homes have ensured that this is not simply a home but an experience, with the ease and comfort of a hotel and the interior of a gallery.

3. PROJECT LIGHT, CANADA WATER

Ardmore will truly place its stamp on the area with this multi-use regeneration project aimed to revitalise the area for decades to come, with a combination of residential and large commercial space.

Place making and community are truly at the heart of this scheme, shown by the carefully curated public spaces and thoughtful landscaping, designed to capitalise on its urban setting. The first phase of this multi-phase project is currently under construction rising up to 18 storeys, and will be completed by the end of the year, delivering 234 apartments for private rent. Later phases will see the construction of further homes which will be available for purchase and rent, along with additional neighbourhood retail, commercial space and new public places. This project will also include a new flagship decathlon store, high quality retail stores, a new neighbourhood food store, waterside restaurants and cafes, commercial work space, an art-house cinema, a health centre, community sports facilities, including a tennis court and a significant new public green space at the centre of the development.

“We are thrilled to have been selected for the first phase of Project Light, which promises to be a landmark development for Canada Water.” “We know London, we understand its geography, its infrastructure and its people. We love the city with a passion.”
Chris Langdon, Development Director
Ardmore

This passion and understanding is needed when overcoming London’s unique logistical challenges and preserving the capital’s heritage whether that is preserving a listed feature, renovating an iconic building to its former glory, or, in this instance, the renovation of an area.

4. ONE NINE ELMS

Third time lucky rings true with this project, as Multiplex are the third contractor to brave this ultra-desirable project, as it’s set to become the largest regeneration project in Europe.

If that wasn’t impressive enough, it is compromised of the tallest residential towers in Europe linked with a glazed bridge, providing breath taking, if not terrifying, views overlooking the residential quarter and international business district.

It is a mixed use project including a 56 storey City Tower, a separate 42 storey River Tower provide in excess of 730,000 sq ft of residential apartments, 267,000 sq ft of hotel accommodation, 1,000 sq ft of retail outlets and a 173 room luxury Wanda Vista Hotel. Set to finish in 2022 and with a construction value of £673m, it certainly is an impressive build to be part of.

Tim Gawthorn, Director
Wanda One (UK)
“We are delighted to be working with Wanda globally, supporting them to deliver in Australia – and now in the UK on this prestigious project.”

5. KEYBRIDGE HOUSE

Bare brick is a statement piece in its own right, which is exactly what Keybridge house is, a mixed-use unique project by Mount Anvil. This statement comes in the form of the eight-storey Keybridge House, and the main attraction, Keybridge Lofts, which at 37 storeys, will be the UK's tallest residential brick tower.

In the heart of London’s regenerated Vauxhall, a new future is rising, offering an elevated perspective on capital living Residents will be place in a privileged position as they are situated at the gateway between one of Europe’s largest regeneration zones and prime central London.

The red brick exterior is truly bringing the development to life, containing stylish studio apartments, penthouses, 595 new homes, 43,600 sq. ft of commercial retail space and one acre of landscaped gardens with integrated water feature and bespoke artwork by Tom Price.

Luxurious living in the heart of Vauxhall would not be complete without 24-hour concierge service, a residents’ business lounge, state-of-the-art gym, spa, sauna, a steam room and 15-metre pool. The exclusive Keybridge club lounge, will have hot desks, meeting areas and WIFI access for those wishing to achieve the home away from home feel, while secure cycle storage and underground parking provide additional convenience. It’s another bold and ambitious development by Mount Anvil and FABRICA destined to transform what was once seen as the ugliest office in Britain into a standout landmark at the epicentre of the capital’s most exciting new neighbourhood.
