ACS Cobham International School

Creating outstanding facilities

ACS Cobham International School offers World Class education delivering a US based curriculum. Sitting in the heart of leafy Surrey, the school prides itself on exceptional standards in education, facilities and accommodation for boarders.

During the latest 2017 residential extension, Stansons took the lead in providing a bespoke shading solution that met the requirements of the project, which was brought in on time and within budget.

A personal approach

Stansons sales & project team’s knowledgeable approach and ‘can do’ attitude were the driving forces behind the award of the shading package for ACS. Pre-award site visits gave the team a sense of the quality and demands that were required to win and complete the entire installation to the clients exacting standards. Sample rooms for boarder and staff accommodation were installed to iron out specification issues before finalising the project details and placing orders for manufacture. This also gave the installation team and project manager opportunities to build strong relationships with the site team.

Creating the right atosphere

The accommodation provided by this new addition to the residential wing of ACS was designed to an extremely high standard, some of it having the appearance and ambiance of a boutique city hotel. Whilst the look and feel of the accommodation was clearly important to the school, it was equally important that the students could rest comfortably in their new surroundings. The expert knowledge and problem-solving attitude that Stansons applied to this project allowed a maximum blackout effect without using expensive blackout units, ensuring that students could get a good night’s sleep whist enjoying their state of the art accommodation.

Stansons solution

Once a full design solution was agreed and signed off, Stansons manufactured and supplied premium roller blinds with side guide wires for the awkwardly shaped tilt and turn windows in bedrooms and common areas; voile and blackout curtains were supplied and installed in the staff living areas and common rooms giving privacy and darkness where needed; bespoke wave curtains made up in acoustic fabrics were installed in the sizable TV lounge to provide noise reduction and darkness to provide premium viewing conditions.

Now that every area of the building is in use, it’s clear that the solutions provided by Stansons have assisted in producing the environment that the original designers were aspiring to create.

Snag free, on time, on budget.

Being able to provide a consultative approach on this project was the secret to the success of it’s execution. Ironing out issues at initial stages, suggesting new specifications, and monitoring the installation, meant that the client was provided with the best possible solution for their new flagship building.
